Please note: All current grant opportunities under this program are for rural manufacturers only. Thank you!
Are you a small- to medium-sized manufacturer in rural Colorado looking to transform your company? Do you see the potential of a high-impact engagement but are budget-constrained due to recent economic challenges?
The Manufacturer’s Edge Small Manufacturing Recovery Grants (SMRG) program is here to help. Our program offers consultative engagement opportunities valued at $10,000 to $20,000 or more that, thanks to a one-time state-funding opportunity, can be implemented in your organization for a fraction of the cost.
Find out more and apply today.
Applications are reviewed weekly and applicants will be contacted within 10 business days of submission for follow-up and next steps. Manufacturer’s Edge received state funding that will offset a portion of the project’s total cost.
Current grant opportunities require that the applicants be rural manufacturers who were in some way affected by the pandemic through decreased sales, increased costs, and/or workforce issues. New grants become available all the time and may not include these restrictions. Please check back regularly for the most up-to-date information and be sure to follow us on LinkedIn.

The CSF provides a common language and set of processes for organizations to use to improve their cybersecurity posture. This proposed assessment will provide a gap assessment of the organization’s cybersecurity posture as well as guidance on options to address any risks. The assessment will be delivered over 30-45 days. - Deciding with Data: NIST 800-171 / CMMC DoD Assessment
NIST 800 -171 and CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) affect any manufacturer who works with controlled unclassified information (CUI) from certain government agencies, most notably the Department of Defense (DoD), the General Services Administration (GSA), and NASA.This assessment will provide organizations working in the DoD’s Supply Chain a means to self-assess their compliance with the NIST 800-171. We will provide you with all the tools required to self-assess your enterprise’s compliance with all 14 points of NIST 800-171 regulation and prepare you for CMMC readiness. You will learn how to identify gaps in the way you store and transmit Confidential Unclassified Information (CUI), how to identify where your sensitive information is, and understand how it is accessed and by whom it is accessed. You will also learn how to develop a policy about access protocols including who and how access is granted.

Growing Your Company
Implement sales and marketing tools to grow your business and capture new opportunities.
- Growing Your Company: Improve Sales and Revenue / Sales Assessment
Post-pandemic we are facing new expectations from customers and salespeople must adapt. What buyers have shared is they want and need a business consultant masquerading as a salesperson. What they want and need is a sales-trusted advisor, not a “sales rep.” Do your salespeople have the skills required by buyers and decision-makers today? If not, you are losing the business you could have won.
Improving Operations
Leverage continuous improvement measures and streamline production, maintenance, and administrative processes.
- Improving Operations: Maintenance Program Gap Assessment
This two-day workshop will evaluate all aspects of the company’s maintenance function. During this workshop, the company’s existing maintenance processes will be compared to industry best practices and standards that have proven successful in manufacturing such as 5S, preventive and predictive maintenance, work and materials management practices, computerized maintenance management systems usage, failure analysis, maintenance effectiveness, and equipment condition. Upon completion of this workshop, areas of improvement will be presented to the site to develop a time-phased implementation plan.
Deciding with Data
Leverage data to make informed decisions & minimize risk to drive growth, innovation, and profit.
- Deciding with Data: Operational Metrics & Dashboard Creation
Improve key metrics up to an improved 15%. This project will deliver a customized Operational Dashboard, or “Pulse Report,” for your organization to keep a pulse on the metrics or KPIs valuable to your company. Simplify daily, weekly, and monthly performance reviews with this Dashboard. Make better decisions around quality, production, maintenance, etc. The final product will be in Excel presentation format.
